Listen to God

If you want to hear what God wants to tell you, close your eyes , quiet your thoughts and listen.

We have been thaught to pray by talking to God, but we have not been taught to listen to see if God is talking to us. Consider the story about a religious man who got caught in a flood. He was so sure God would not let him drown, then a boat passed and offered him help. But he said, “I am a religious person and I am sure God will help me.” After a few hours the water started to rise and a motorized boat passed by offering help, but he again replied “I am a religious person and I am sure God will help me.” At the end of the day the water was so high he had to climb to the roof. Then a helicopter passed by and offered help, but the man was so sure God would help him that he didn’t accept it. As the water got higher, the man finally drowned. When he arrived in heaven, he asked God why He had not sent help and God replied, ” I sent you two boats and a helicopter and you rejected them!”

When we pray, we have a tendency to talk and not wait for God’s reply. Are we listening?

God is in the silence, which is inside of us. He is in the space between our thoughts, but we often have so many thoughts, we don’ t permit ourselves to quietly listen to God’s response. Meditation is a great way to go back to this silence, calming our minds and making us conscious of the space between our thoughts.

So the next time you feel like praying, listen to God first. You may not need to say a single word.

Seven Reasons to Have Ear To Ear Smiles

Is the opposite of anger, happiness?

I am not sure about that, but I am sure that if you are happy you can’t be angry at the same time. Smiling has the same effect. When you are smiling you feel happiness, even if it is not a natural smile. There is even Laughter Yoga, which is used to  heal some illness.

So when we smile or laugh there are many benefits:

  1. Smiling changes our mood
  2. Smiling is contagious
  3. Smiling relieves stress
  4. Smiling boosts your immune system
  5. Smiling lowers your blood pressure
  6. Smiling releases endorphines, natural pain killers
  7. Smiling lifts faces and makes you look younger

There is this organization named Lovin’ Life Group which was founded on the belief that appreciating life, having fun and smiling as often as possible will provide an opportunity for living a longer and healthier life.

This company is selling T-shirts with a huge smile printed at the front that is used to inspire people to smile. They sell the T-shirts for $19.99.

I remember once a group of girls offered me a lollipop  if I would give them a smile, which I did. I also remember that I was not smiling before, but after they asked me I had a huge smile on my face, and of course it made me feel great. So I hope in the future we can see more people like Lovin’ Life Group who want to see everyone smile because we all feel good.

So Smile!

We All Have Amazing Gifts

I have always been amazed by the gifts some people have. I also believe that most of us have gifts that have not risen to the surface yet.

If we only knew the potential inside of each of us, we could leave behind the fears and the limits we have in our minds. We would live a limitless life, and would use all the potential God gave to us when we were born. I think we would be amazed by our gifts, as well as others’.

In nature we also find God’s greatness– from the Monarch penguins that go to the same place every year, or the Monarch butterflies that return to the same branch every spring having only brains the size of a sand grains. All of these animals instinctively repeat their journeys every year. But we simply get used to it and expect it. What if we could see these feats of nature as the miracles they really are?
